Welcome to the Lancashire Image Archive – Life in Lancashire at the Click of a Mouse. Through the Image Archive, you can access some of our collections of local photographs, postcards and other images held in the libraries of Lancashire County Library and Information Service. You can also now order copies of many of these images directly from the website using the Shopping Cart Facility. |
- From the menu on the left, use Quick search to search keywords from any part of a record, e.g. +Cheapside +Preston (i.e. both the words appear in a record); river -Ribble (‘Ribble’ NOT to appear in a record)
- Using Advanced search allows you to refine your query and search by specific fields from a record
- To find images by Subject alphabetically, use Indexes search
- To find images by Subject from a hierarchical sequence, use Subjects search; you can select broader or narrower subjects by clicking the folder icons.
- From time to time collections of images will be grouped together for easier viewing; choose Collections from the menu
Photographic quality copies of many images on this website can be purchased directly from the website using the Shopping Cart facility. The watermarked images may be downloaded directly from the site for personal use only. To view the price list, click here.
